Rusty Hardin & Associates Named to Texas Lawyer’s 2023 ‘Watch List’ for Advancements in Diversity & Inclusion

Rusty Hardin & Associates is pleased to announce the firm has been named to Texas Lawyer’s 2023 “Watch List,” a listing of Texas law firms leaving an indelible mark on the legal community.

Texas Lawyer selected Rusty Hardin & Associates for its accomplishments in diversity and inclusion. The firm, which was founded in 1996, is made up of a majority of women lawyers. Of its 17 lawyers, nine are women, five of whom are partners.

“Although the firm founder did not set out to create a highly diverse firm, the firm has benefitted and grown from its elevation of women and racial minorities to senior positions,” said Texas Lawyer.

Firm founder Rusty Hardin says he did not set diversity as a specific goal but set out to hire the best trial lawyers he could find.

“I am delighted that it has turned out this way,” said Mr. Hardin. “The people we hired are excellent, outstanding lawyers who also happen to be women.”

Mr. Hardin also stressed the importance of having different kinds of people at the table. “A diverse makeup of attorneys better positions them in front of juries, whose members come from all kinds of backgrounds and experiences and who are looking for attorneys with whom they can relate.”

Texas Lawyer’s inaugural “Watch List” was created to highlight small to midsize firms making important strides in several different areas, including new initiatives, innovation, diversity/inclusion, firm growth, community outreach, new practice areas, and more.
