Meet Our Two New Attorneys

Experienced Trial Attorneys Kendall Speer and Armie Lewis Join Rusty Hardin & Associates

HOUSTON – Rusty Hardin & Associates, LLP is pleased to welcome trial attorneys Armie Lewis and Kendall Speer to the firm’s talented team of litigators in its Houston office.

Ms. Speer joins the firm as a senior associate, focusing her practice on general commercial litigation and using her nearly 10 years of experience in construction, employment, oil and gas, and real estate litigation to assist the firm’s clients. Ms. Speer will also handle appellate and probate cases.

“Kendall is the full package, and we are tremendously excited to have her with us,” said Rusty Hardin. “She is extremely bright, an excellent writer, and an awesome lawyer. From a client standpoint, she is the type of lawyer you want in your corner and by your side.”

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Speer served as law clerk to Texas Supreme Court Justice John Phillip Devine, where she prepared opinions and recommended case disposition on appellate issues. She went on to become a partner at decades-old Houston firm Crady Jewett McCulley & Houren.

Ms. Speer is a summa cum laude graduate of South Texas College of Law. She interned for Judge Vanessa D. Gilmore of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office and served as a law clerk for Rusty Hardin & Associates before graduating.

“I could tell then that the environment and atmosphere here were different than at other firms,” said Ms. Speer. “It felt like a family – a family of great lawyers who all cared about doing great work. It was always a goal to come back, and I couldn’t be happier to see that goal come to fruition.”

Joining Ms. Speer is high-stakes trial attorney Armie Lewis.

“Armie is an excellent lawyer,” said Mr. Hardin. “He will do whatever is necessary to help our clients, and he will do it with an incredible attitude. Combine that with his extensive commercial litigation experience, and it was an easy decision to ask him to join us.”

Representing clients in state and federal courts across the country, Mr. Lewis handles a wide variety of complex matters, including financial cases, energy disputes, real estate litigation, trademark litigation, personal injury cases, civil rights litigation, appeals, and probate disputes.

“This firm is special in that there is a willingness to do whatever needs to be done to help others, so I knew immediately it was where I wanted to be,” said Mr. Lewis. “I am excited about working with this team, having the ability to grow my practice, and, most importantly, working with our clients to resolve whatever issues they may be facing.”

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lewis was an associate at Susman Godfrey LLP in Houston. He earned his B.B.A. and M.B.A. in business management from Dallas Baptist University and his law degree from Emory University School of Law. After law school, he completed two federal clerkships where he clerked for Chief Judge Carl E. Stewart of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Judge Ed Kinkeade of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
